The Buffermin® Methionate line of products are designed to have a vastly higher degree of bio-availability than traditional inorganic minerals such as sulfates or oxides. Methionine is an essential sulfur amino acid that is often the first limiting nutrient in livestock and companion animal diets.
Methionine is required in many regular functions of the body including:

Currently there are six Buffermin® Methionate mineral formulations available: calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, and zinc.

These minerals are bound to the methionine in a way that enables passage through the GI tract without major breakdown in structure – letting the animals get the most out of their feed. The methionine complex also limits antagonism between minerals and phytate that hinders inorganic mineral supplements.
Buffermin® Methionates are ideal additions to diets that contain minimal amounts of meat proteins or are heavily weighted with vegetable proteins like soy, or low-calorie foods diluted with cereals and cellulose.
